The biggest problem with our diets is processed flours and starches. We are one of the biggest consumers of these items here in the United States which is why we have an epidemic of obesity in our country. The processed foods you should avoid are: All flours including wheat, oat, legume,(pea & bean),rice, and corn flours; instant -refined grains we should avoid include instant hot cereals, white rice, polished rice, and instant rice. 4.) Get 8 Hours Sleep

Sleep is the most overlooked when it comes to our metabolism, although it’s very important when it comes to burning fat. When we sleep it allows the hormones leptin and ghrelin to do their job. Leptin helps to regulate your energy levels and keep your appetite low, while ghrelin stimulates hunger and often initiates the need to eat. These two little powerhouses only work when we get adequate sleep.

5.) Exercise

I know you’re thinking “DUH” but did you know that besides weight loss exercise also attributes to mental well being? I’m not talking hitting the gym for 3 hours a day, 7 days a week, I mean taking a brisk 30 minute walk every day or even 30 minutes of stretching. When we exercise it increases our dopamine, the feel good receptor in our brain. When we are feeling good in our mind, our body is more likely to go into homeostasis.
